We’re Here (Finally!). We’re Queer. Our Joint Pain is Moderate to Severe.

Happy Pride Month! I figured there couldn’t really be a more appropriate day to announce our return to the internet, and I hope my fellow 2SLGBTQIA+ Community members had a safe and enjoyable opener.

It’s been far too long, friends. I’m positively elated to be back!

To those of you who are reading this, thank you for sticking out the wait and for visiting the site. We cannot thank you enough for all of the love and support we’ve received over the last couple of years. As much as I didn’t want to, several unforeseen circumstances forced me to take a giant step back from anything that didn’t need my immediate attention. That unfortunately meant that many things I enjoy ended up on the back burner— including the internet at large. Life has simply been overwhelming and there’s been no slowing down since the Facebook page was wrongfully disabled in November.

I’ve tried everything within my power (aside from spending money, because no) to get that damn page restored, with no success. At this point, I’ve essentially given up hope for it’s return, and I’m not exactly moved to re-start all over again with a new page on any Meta-owned platform if it can come crashing down so swiftly for no reason. For years I have said that it is essential to diversify your social media platforms and to own your own content. This website is our home base for the foreseeable future, with some BlueSky, Discord, Reddit, and other platform activity here and there. Our ultimate commitment is to the place where we control the content, which is this site.

All this to say, I have absolutely missed every second away from the Community that was built around the A Link to the Spoons page— I can’t wait to see what the future holds now that we have the freedom to post what we want on this platform, rather than tiptoeing around a defunct algorithm. In the coming weeks, you can expect to see a lot more activity on the website, including: new blog posts, service dog updates, disability-specific informational articles, advocacy tips, educational posts, pop-culture and current media takes, additions to the resource pages, and much more. Furthermore, we will be offering new services within the state of Utah and beyond very soon, so stay tuned!

Love and Spoons,

Sydney & Chris
